We survived our very first summer on a "traditional" school schedule (3 months as opposed to 3 weeks.) I LOVED it! It was great letting go of all responsibilities for a little while and just have FUN! I am very sad to see the summer come to an end. I'm not quite ready for the early morning, lunch making, routine quite yet. But, my kids definitely are! I think they are ready to spend a little more quality time with friends, then with each other.

Sparta Cup 2010....

Brayden's soccer team has been practing hard this summer. They have three practices, two hours each, every week. They have had to learn a lot of new skills this year since they play with more kids on the field this year. But their practice paid off, because they played so well during the Sparta Cup this past week.

Here is Brayden during some of the moments I could catch on camera (it's so hard when you're watching through a lens.)
Brayden's happiest day, was day three of the tournament when Leo the Lion showed up at the soccer field. He entertained the kids forever with his soccer moves, and tricks. He came over to the side lines and cheered for our boys. Brayden said this was such motivation for him, he wanted Leo to see him score. The boys needed to win in a shut out to advance. And sure enough it paid off, the boys won the game 4-0 and advanced.
After winning the semi final game to one of their biggest rivals, USA Red, they advanced to the championship game.
The boys ended up winning the Sparta Cup for the 3rd year in a row after defeating the Blue Knights in the Championship game.

Here is Brayden after much relief, that it's finally over.
Thanks Coach Kelly for all you do!
The "dweeb twins" celebrating their victory. Oh, and Kade too.
