This past week we took a little family vacation down to San Diego. We had so much fun! We had a condo right on the beach, fun time spent with some friends, and some much needed R&R!! I am going to try and remember day by day what we did. Here's our trip....
Our first day was pretty uneventful. We woke up early to get to the airport. We luckily had no hiccups besides a very busy airport. We boarded the plane and we were on our way. Once we arrived in San Diego we immediately noticed the gray skies and cold air. We were a little disappointed but it wasn't going to stop us! We got our car and headed straight to our condo. We checked things out a little. We immediately loved the place we were staying. Mike's boss owns the place we stayed at and rent's it out throughout the year. We were luckily enough to get "dib's" on a week since it fills up fast. I loved the condo because it was stocked with everything we needed from kitchen supplies to beach supplies. After getting settled in a bit we set out for Costco to buy food for the week and of course we had to hit a little In-And-Out on the way...YUM!!!! Nothing is better then a hamburger/animal style, order of fries and a Dr Pepper.
After we got back we went out for our first beach experience. It was cold so it didn't last long. The kids were intrigued with it and loved watching the waves and digging in the sand. After being bundled in a towel for a while I talked them all into heading back up to the condo. We got the kids in bed, turned out all the lights, and enjoyed a relaxing evening watching the waves right from the couch! Loved it!
Gerry and Becca joined us for some fun this day. This was Mike's favorite day BY FAR!!! Mike and Gerry were able to go and golf at Torrey Pines. He had been so giddy for this day for a long time. I think it was all he expected it to be!

I decided after kids laying around in the sand like this. It gets really old cleaning sand out of life jackets, towels, swim suits, and all the little crevices on their bodies. I think we are still finding sand tucked away in little places. I found out I am definitely not a beach type person, I would cringe every time they dropped something or sat down wet in the sand.
The not so fun moments from the Fourth...
*Kaylee got stung by a bee. I think this ruined her whole trip. This is the only moment she remembers from the whole thing.
*The serious sunburns that everyone suffered after 3 days of hanging out at the beach. That night we were all comparing who had it the worst.
*Trying to decide on a place to get take-out and then finding out that they are closed because it's the fourth...duh!!!
And then we went to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps.
Kaylee had a Kindergarten program the last week of school. It's always fun watching her perform since it's something she LOVES. The teacher sent home a note saying they were going to have a fashion show, this was *DING DING* to Kaylee. She immediately started planning. They had asked that the kids wear something that is their favorite it could be a shirt, shoes, jersey, etc. Most kids did just that. They wore their favorite shirt, or their favorite shoes. Well, Kaylee had it all planned out. She wore her favorite skirt, with sparkly shoes, she brought her purse, with a cell phone and sun glasses. She actually wanted to wear my really high black boots cause those are her absolute favorite, but I talked her out of that...thank goodness.

They have made some good friends and they will really miss them when they go to their new school.
