San Diego Day #3- Fourth of July!!!

Highlights from the Fourth of July

*YUMMY breakfast from Kono's right on the boardwalk
*Fun shopping trip to The Closet
*More beach time...this time with our hubby's and a MILLION other people. The beach was SO busy

*The sun was shining today!!!

*An awesome sand castle, courtesy of Gerry

*Sitting in my lawn chair and watching my hubby play with the kids

*Playing with this kiddo

*Being able to see fireworks right from our condo. It was so convenient not having to battle the crowds (refer to story below.) The kids loved their glow glasses from Mor-mors! They played with them clear into the night.

The not so fun moments from the Fourth...

*Kaylee got stung by a bee. I think this ruined her whole trip. This is the only moment she remembers from the whole thing.

*The drunken "Sea Monster" that scared Lauren to death. Between the bee sting and the sea monster, Lauren and Kaylee were ready to go home. It was funny/disgusting for a minute but they wouldn't leave. It got really annoying.

*After sitting at the beach we went back to the condo and got all cleaned up in our Fourth of July outfits. I wanted to take the kids out to get some cute pictures of them. Much to our dismay, it was a little like being at spring break. It was SO busy and a little inappropriate for our kids to be out. We were out for about 15 minutes before we decided we needed to take the kids back. Kade was trying to take off his clothes so he could be like everybody else. So this was the best picture I got. I was mad I didn't get a picture. I was mad we weren't going to be able to enjoy the fireworks. I was mad I had gotten ready and now we were heading back to the condo to just get in jammies. Luckily we could see the fireworks right from our place. PHEW!!!

*The fact that their were officers EVERYWHERE patrolling the roads. I was grateful they were there but a little worried that I had my kids there also.

*The serious sunburns that everyone suffered after 3 days of hanging out at the beach. That night we were all comparing who had it the worst.

*Trying to decide on a place to get take-out and then finding out that they are closed because it's the fourth...duh!!!
