Soccer 2010-2011

Hearing the ref blow his whistle three times brought so much relief.
Game Over.
It had been a rough game with a not so excellent ref. He actually came over to the sidelines at one point and asked us to HUUUUUSH. The opposing team was yelling just as much but he couldn't yell at them because he couldn't understand them. It was an all Spanish speaking team.

Sparta U10 went undefeated for the 2011 spring season.
 Way to go boys!

In honor of the last game of the season, the boys spray painted their hair blue.

He totally did not want to stop for a picture:)
VICTORY!

Listening intently (or not so much) as their coaches give them praise and encouragement for their great season.
Congratulating the opposing team. I love seeing them all lined up like this.

Afterwards they cheered and devoured the donuts that were brought for them. They loved this cause they never get half time treats or post game treats like the "littles" do.

Kade finished out his season successfully as well. He is a mighty good play if you ask me. He learned how to play really well with his teammates. He LOVES the game. His favorite thing to do afterward is replay all the plays that he did during the game. It usually follows with a made up amount of assists and goals he had.

In his words during this game he scored 15 goals and the other team scored 7
The one blond girl was very hard to verse but he was much tougher then her.
He slid and kicked the ball and Evan got it. Then Evan passed it to Ben. Kade had to throw elbows past a few players to get to the goal. Ben passed it and then Kade  kicked the ball right into the net.
Every game he has a story much like this one. Kade loves everything about soccer. He especially loves his "lucky" bright orange cleats.

And thanks to our cheerleader that puts up with all the games and practices we drag her to. She hates every second of it. Hopefully the love is returned as we go and watch her dance performance in a couple weeks. I'm sure the boys won't be thrilled about that either.

A week after Brayden's final game, he had tryouts for the 2011-2012 soccer season. This is always something that is so nerve racking. You want to build up their self confidence but not too much in case they don't make it. As a parent you are responsible for picking up their self esteem if they don't make something like this. As I took him to tryouts, my anxiety level soared. There were so many kids there and I was so worried for him.

Brayden has been saying that all he wants for his birthday is a candy poster. So before tryouts I made this for him. He was beyond thrilled

We were so thrilled to find out that Brayden made the team again. We are so excited for another great year!
GO SPARTA!
