Desert Sharks Triathalon...

Brayden decided this year that he was interested in participating in a kid's triathlon. After we were sure that he really wanted to do it, we signed him up. He didn't train very well for this event, so I was a little nervous how he would do. He practiced the swimming once, the length of the bike ride once, and ran a mile here and there. It's a good thing this kid is in awesome shape already, because he ended up doing fantastic!!!

Here he is taking his bike to the race site.
Number 45!!!!

Before the swim started. He had to swim down the length of the pool and back. It ended up being 100 yards

His turn!!!

It was so fun being able to be right there and cheer him on. He did incredible! I thought he would get tired but he never did.
I think he was actually trying to smile in this pic
Kade was more interested in the chick-fil-a cow then Brayden swimming.
Yay! He completed his swim in 2:59. Off to his bike...

He took a little packet of goo and he was off. It took him 2:34 to transition. The bike portion of the race was 3.2 miles. This part freaked me out because we couldn't follow him. I was so worried he would get lost, or tired, or cold, or hurt and I wouldn't be there to help him. Of course he was fine, but I was worried.

While we waited Kaylee was doing her usual back bends.
Here he is finishing up. He completed the bike portion in 17:12

Bringing in his bike. He took 1:20 to transition into the run. The run was a 1.2 mile run.

While he ran we enjoyed the many things they had to offer: Chocolate milk, chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches, fruit, and water.
Mike went and ran the last bit with him to help keep his energy strong. He finished the run in 9:21

I was so proud of him for accomplishing something so big. He was racing against kids all the way up to age 15. He did so well! He was beaming the rest of the day!

Kaylee's Dance Recital 2011...

Kaylee had the opportunity to dance for UDA this past year. She had a tremendous year! She grew as a dancer so much. She got to preform at Kingsbury Hall. Her dance was called "The Beauty of Nature."
She had a good time hanging out during dress rehearsal and recital with her friends Katrina and Carly.
Thanks Dad, Brayden and Kade for the flowers! She did a great job even though she had a little stage fright. I'm so proud of you!

St George...

At the beginning of June we took a family trip down to St. George to visit our new baby cousin Allie, and to attend her baby blessing. We were also there to celebrate Kasen's birthday with him. Kaylee was beyond thrilled to see and hold her new cousin. She could not be separated from her the entire weekend.
The weather in Salt Lake was still quite cold (if you can't tell by the pic of my white legs below!!!) so it was nice to enjoy some sun! We had fun playing water balloon volleyball. The boys did get a little competitive though...

Silly cousins! Kasen, Zac, Kade, Kaylee, and Brayden
Lacy, Kaylee, and Allie

It's nice that Nate and Adrianne don't have any kids of their own because ours are still interesting to them. They took all the kids to the farm to see the horses.
Since we don't allow our kids to have sleepovers, they were beyond thrilled to have a giant slumber party with their cousins.

Sunday morning they blessed Allie at their home.
Kade and Allie
Kade discovered a new "girl-friend" while we were there. This is Wes and Lacy's niece, and he demanded a picture with her before he would get up.
Kaylee of course taking any opportunity to pose

Kade and Allie

Kaylee and Allie. Brayden was ticked at me because I didn't get a pic of him holding her as well. They all did surprisingly really well with her.
Mike and I before the blessing

All of the cousins waiting so patiently

Kasen, Ellie, Kaylee and Kade
Wes right before he blessed little Allie
She is such a tiny little peanut. It was so fun being able to hold her all weekend.
Kaylee and Allie....again
Brayden (see I did get a pic of him with Allie) Mike, Kade, Me and Kaylee
My kids get really car sick when we travel. This is a bonus side effect to the medicine we have to give them before long distances. Kaylee was out in the seat behind them.  Ah....silence:)
I have heard stories about the petting zoo off the freeway exit in Scipio, so we decided to stop and stretch our legs. What an awesome way to get the wiggles out. Who knew Scipio had a zebra? (actually the zebra has now passed on, but the sheep and rabbits are really cool.)

We had such a fun weekend with family, enjoying the sun, and a little time away from home!
