We had one day left in California, and could do anything we wanted. Problem was, we didn't know what that was. We tossed many things around, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, the beach again, whale watching in Newport??? Nothing sounded that great to any of us. Then as soon as we said it, all the kids started screaming. We new what we would be doing for the day.
HOLLYWOOD!!!!!
We parked our car at the Kodak Theater so we could see all the "STARS"
We were so excited that Batman and Superman wanted a picture with our children. We quickly learned that they worked on tips. They wanted a picture with ALL the children on the street.

We found some really fun stars to pose by. Some of the kids favorites (and mine) were The Simpsons, Walt Disney, Harlem Globetrotters, Snow White, Tim McGraw and Michael Jackson. The funniest was when Kade saw this completely empty star and said, "Dis one, dis one's my favwit. It's my star!" So we have officially named a star for Kade on Hollywood Blvd. The stars go up and down both sides of the street for 2 1/2 miles. The kids wanted to see every single star. They were a little upset when I told them we would not be doing that. Their was much more to see then stars!

Wax Museum Figures
Mickey Mouse (notice Brayden isn't in any of the character pictures...apparently he's too big for that now.)
Their were so many people along the street trying to sell bus tours of the "stars" homes. We thought it sounded like so much fun, but way to pricey. Mike pulled out his phone and googled some address, so we decided to hop in the car and find some ourselves. After driving around for a little while, we decided to just buy a star map. Best money spent. It was SO fun!
This is the back view of the Playboy Mansion, trees and gates were blocking any other view. They were getting ready for a big event because it was labor day.
The house from Fresh Prince of Bel Air
This house was not on the map so I need anybody that has ever watched The Hills to vote on this. Mike swears this house was on the hills and that the car in front belongs to Spencer Pratt. Anyone else agree with him? Michael Jackson's home that he died in. The car in the garage still had flowers laying all over it. Very cool.
This house belongs to Dr. Phil. His house was gorgeous. It has his wife Robyn written all over it.
Some of the other homes we saw were Jack Black, Ellen, Jackie Chan, previous home of Jennifer Aniston, previous home of Elvis Presley, the home that Nicholas Cage is currently losing.
We saw many, many AMAZING homes. I wish I knew who they all belonged to. They were so cool to see. But as we were driving around through Beverly Hills we were stopped at a stop light and this was the car stopped in front of us.
We all started freaking out! We knew it had to be someone famous from the show. As the light turned green Mike sped up in our mini van, to get to the side of it. And sure enough it was Nigel Lythgoe from So You Think You Can Dance. Our favorite show!!!!
Kade had just fallen asleep in the car, and the second we saw him, we were all screaming, "IT'S NIGEL!" Kade immediately shot up, "It's Nigel?!?" He was so excited. And he doesn't even know who he is. Nigel must have thought we were completely nuts. We were all just waving to him. He immediately started trying to lose us. He put on his brakes, put on his turn signals. We did everything to stay right on his tail, but eventually he did lose us.
At another turn we saw Jay Leno driving around in a little convertible. By the time we were able to turn around to follow him, we had totally lost him. So no picture even.
It was such a fun day. The kids were bummed we weren't able to find Miley Cyrus's house but after so much driving they were ready to come home. This was by far their favorite day of the trip. Who knew a free day in Hollywood would trump Disney?

Haha! I think it's funny, it's kinda like boxes on Christmas for a toddler. No toy needed! I loved all your pics and I am jealous you went "house hunting" in Hollywood. I can never get Brandon to do that. Looks like a super fun trip!
SO FUN! all that famous stuff would be so awesome to see! Glad you guys had a great time!!! I love this blog of yours!!! :)
I loved our Cali trip this year too. We'll have to go to some of the places you mentioned since we tend to stick to the San Diego area. I love how your kids favorite was what you least expected and the cheapest.
