Huntington Beach
We were very excited to be staying so close to the beach. We had a whole free day, so we thought we would spend it laying out (one last chance for a tan! )Unfortunately we had forgotten about the fog that fills the California air until about 2 pm. We all put on our swim suits and cover ups and went to the local Wally World for some sand toys. They all kind of looked at us like we were nuts when we asked where their beach section was. They told us they had cleared it out at the end of the season. Season? We're in California. They don't know what season's are.So we found a couple things that would make do and off to the beach we went. Sure enough, it was freezing cold!!! Everyone along the beach was in sweatshirts, and here we were in our little swimming suits. You could totally tell we were from out of town. Oh well, we weren't gonna let it ruin our day!
See that devilish smile? Yes, he was up to something. He dumped that bucket of water on someones head right after I took this picture.
Mike B and Mike O rented boards and learned how to surf.
The coast guard getting after the kids for going out too far. Trouble.
Kaylee and Kynlee. Loving the sand one moment.
Totally frustrated with it the next. We could never be beach bums. All my kids were totally irritated with the sand after a couple hours.
CHEESE!

When you lay in the sand, it's nice and warm. Ignore the blue lips and chattering teeth.
Now that's one big sand hill. The kids played on there forever.
Kade, Daxton, Kaylee, Kynlee, and Ashton
Kade, very insistent not to smile for the camera.
Brayden and his soccer buddies playing paddle ball. Eventually Kade wanted to learn how to play. He wasn't very successful, but he had fun.
That water was FREEZING!!!! But you can't help but jump a few waves.

Sweet tan we were getting in our sweatshirts.
By the end of the day we were totally beat and we still didn't have a tan. We had just spent two long days in the sun, we were so tired. Luckily we had to adhere to a strict soccer schedule and had to be in and asleep very early. We definitely needed it.

That is why you need to come to Florida there is no such thing as seanons (floridians think so but they are wrong). We went to the beach a few weeks ago and the water was still nice and warm!
