Before & After
We took the splint off Kaylee's nose today, and I am very pleased with the results. In my mind I had thought of all these weird looking noses, and I couldn't possibly picture what hers was going to look like. Luckily she still looks like Kaylee, just with a skinnier nose now. Hopefully this will be my last post on her nose!

Amazing Man....
What a sad thing, we turned on the tv last night after returning home from vacation to hear the news that our dear prophet has passed away. My heart just sank. I feel like each conference he has made some indication that it may be his last, but you never expect it. He was such an incredible man, and it's so amazing to think about all the difference he made in this world. We were watching a documentary on his life last night and his whole life was honestly devoted to this church. It was also sad for my kids to realize that he had passed away. They loved listening to him during Conference. It made them feel better when I explained to them that he was now with his sweet wife. And they both said he's with Grandpa now too. And then Brayden out of the blue said, "Mom, he's with his buddy Pres. Faust now. Everything will be fine." I was surprised that he remembered that he had passed away not too long ago. I'm grateful we have that knowledge and the peace it can bring us.
I loved listening to President Hinckley speak. He was always so insightful, and funny at the same time. I loved it when President Hinckley had finished with the sustaining of the officers of the church during the Saturday morning session, Elder Eyring had moved to his new seat on the stand. Unfortunately, they didn't show this on TV, but when President Hinckley turned around, he stood there for a moment looking at Elder Eyring, then picked up his cane and "knighted" him on his shoulder and head. I love that President Hinckey was a prophet during my time. I know all the prophets are called of god, but their was something Amazing about this man, and I'm glad I got to listen to his words.
President Hinckley said: “[Jesus Christ’s] Atonement is the greatest event in human history. There is nothing to compare with it. It is the most fundamental part of our Father’s plan for the happiness of His children. Without it, mortal life would be a dead-end existence with neither hope nor future. The gift of our divine Redeemer brings an entirely new dimension to our lives. Because of our Savior’s sacrifice, instead of dismal oblivion, death becomes only a passage to a more glorious realm. The Resurrection becomes a reality for all. Eternal life becomes available to those who walk in obedience to His commandments” ( Australia stake conference satellite broadcast, Feb. 12, 2005).

Lucky 7
Happy Birthday Brayden! (a couple days late, his birthday was on the 22nd...)
Can you believe I have a 7 year old!?!
We have had fun the last couple of days celebrating Brayden's birthday. We went to Boondocks to play one night. And a birthday isn't a birthday without Leatherby's ice cream. So we went there one night with Mormor's and Papa Kenny and Paul and Tina were able to come too. On his birthday I wanted to be able to go have lunch with him but I wasn't able to make it work, so instead we took him a Happy Meal for lunch. He thought he was pretty cool. And then that night we had some family over for cake and ice cream.
Brayden got a lot of fun things for his birthday. He got the set of Planet Earth DVD's, which he loves watching! He got some transformers, new basketball warm-ups. He got a Deron Williams basketball Jersey and Boozer sweat bands for his basketball games. He got a spiderman game for his Gameboy and a remote control car. We also got him a new bike. Who do you think liked it more, him or Kade? Every time we turned around Kade would be sitting on it. He just kept saying "Mama, bike."
Happy Birthday Brayden. I love you buddy. You're such a good kid, and so fun to be around. I am so grateful to have you as my little boy (you may be 7, but you'll always be my little boy!) You have such great faith and you are such an example to me everyday. It's fun seeing you grow and watching you make the decisions you're faced with daily. I couldn't ask for a better big brother for Kaylee and Kade. Thanks for all you do for me! I love you, Mom

Brayden also got this Nerf Longshot. We have had more shooting ranges set up in our house over the last couple of days then imaginable. Everywhere I look their is a shooting target. The sad thing about it is, the targets aren't set up by Brayden....it's Mike. He has been more excited about this gun, then I think Brayden has. Well maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's close. He actually said he wanted to go buy another one so they could shoot at each other. The child in him:)

He "nose" what he's talking about....
Update on Kaylee's nose.
I took Kaylee to the Ear, Nose, Throat Dr. Today (Thank you Dr. Meads!!) She got all dolled up for her appointment. She was so excited to show the doctor her tiara and earrings (hey whatever will get her there!) First of all they took the X-ray's from me and asked where I got them taken because they were horrible pictures. After they examined Kaylee they said she looked pretty good but their is still quite a bit of swelling so we will have to go back in a week to make sure. They said it looked like Dad was able to bend her nose back in place. Yes, bend because her nose never broke! The dumb doctor at the insta care told us it broke in 4 places but really all he was looking at were the blood vessels running through the bone! Where was this guy during med school? So if you are ever looking for an insta care I wouldn't recommend the one on
10400 and Redwood. I'm usually not a very negative person but come on, I just paid you a $100 copay and you can't tell a difference between a break and a blood vessel? At least I can count on good ol' Dr. Meads to know what he's talking about. He got a good chuckle out of what the other Dr. had told me though. So, it looks like Kaylee will be OK. She's just pretty banged up for now. She just keeps telling me the bruises make her special:)

Things I Don't Love So Much
This is a really negative list, but after doing the last one I thought about a lot of things I don't like. Hopefully this list isn't as long. Here they are...
1. Waking Up In The Morning
2. Doing The Dishes
3. Cleaning
4. When someone ruins a surprise
5. Being cold
6. Wearing socks to bed
7. Speaking in front of other people (my calling still gives me anxiety. I would be ok if all adults would leave the room:)
8. Calling people on the telephone
9. My husbands yellow personality (I know I said I loved it in my previous post, but their are two sides to this personality.)
10. Large groups of people...it gives me anxiety
11. Raw meat, I don't even like to see it. I love Texas Roadhouse, but my one complaint is that they showcase all their meat right up front for everyone to view. Do they think this is appetizing? Do they think people can't wait to order a big juicy steak after they have been eyeing a bleeding one for an hour in their waiting room? It's disgusting!
12. Being Micro Managed
13. Beans
All night I keep thinking of more things I should have put on my "love" list. So I thought I would add some non-food items to the list.
1. baby lotion
2. getting into bed
3. big comfy pillows
4. Brazil
5. Sunsets
6. rainbows
7. daisies

What she will do to get a blog entry...
Last night while we were at the grocery store, Kaylee tripped and smacked her face on the floor. We instantly knew she had broken her nose. Mike was able to take her into the bathroom and set her nose back into place, but we still took her into the Instacare to make sure everything was ok. She fractured her nose in about 4 different places but it looks like everything is in line and she will be fine. After the swelling goes down we will have to take her to a ear, nose, throat doctor to make sure everything will grow just fine, and make sure their will be no problems with her breathing in the future. She has asked me about 8 different times if I have blogged her pictures, so I think she did it on purpose so I would dedicate a blog entry just for her!
